Young People's Team

Our Young People's team has three qualified, experienced counsellors, Heidi Fettes, Pam Lowe, and Tricia Kiehlmann, all of whom have additional training for working with children and young people, and experience of counselling in Secondary Schools.

Currently due to Covid restrictions we are working on-line and by phone and find these work well for older teens. Normally we see children and young people in our well equipped rooms at The Friary.

Appointments can be requested by parents on behalf of young people under 16, and we operate a donation system for payment.

How can counselling help?

We provide a safe non-judgemental place to help you talk about what's going on in your life. Life can be messy and difficult. Some young people have to deal with experiences such as bereavement, loss, family and relationship difficulties, and bullying, while others may be dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress.
We recognise that ups and downs are a normal part of life but sometimes help is needed to find a way through them. Counselling gives support and helps you find new ways of approaching problems. You will be helped to deal with issues better and make positive changes to improve your life.
