The Schools Team

Our schools’ team currently comprises three qualified, experienced counsellors, Heidi Fettes, Pam Lowe, and Tricia Kiehlmann, all of whom have additional training for working with children and young people, and experience of counselling in Secondary Schools.

We work with pupils on a one-to-one basis, by appointment, at the request of School Guidance Staff, funded by Dundee City Council.
During the current restrictions due to Covid 19 we will be offering counselling by phone or online video call, and are finding remote counselling works really well providing much needed help and support.

How counselling can help

We provide a safe non-judgemental place to help pupils talk about what's going on in their lives. Life can be messy and difficult. Some young people have to deal with experiences such as bereavement, loss, family and relationship difficulties, and bullying, while others may be dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, and stress.
We recognise that ups and downs are a normal part of life but sometimes help is needed to find a way through them. Counselling gives support and helps people find new ways of approaching problems. Young people are helped to deal with issues better and make positive changes to improve their lives.
