After studying Psychology at University, I trained as a Primary Teacher and have worked in teaching both full and part-time, in Scotland and in Africa, for over 20 years. I kept an interest in psychology, particularly in psychotherapy and in 2006, I spent two years studying part-time for an Advanced Certificate in Counselling after which I began counselling in Edinburgh.
In 2019 I decided to further my counselling training and began the 2 year Diploma in Integrative Counselling with Vital Connexions. After a move with my family at the end of 2021 from Edinburgh to the Dundee area I am delighted to now be working as part of the team here at Hope Counselling Dundee.
I enjoy working creatively with clients to explore areas of their lives in which they feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of thinking and relating. It is a privilege to be able to accompany people on their journeys towards greater self-awareness, to offer a safe space for clients to be heard and validated and to witness change and growth in those I work with.
